Ooh it’s nice to have a break now and then. At least, that’s my excuse. Just.. just another few more levels of Alt Shift, please? No really, I should get back to doing some work. I don’t recommend highly addictive puzzle games to people with jobs, but it’s Friday, the weekend is coming and it’s too hot to do anything so we might as all well stay inside to play a few more levels…

Of course there’s always the fantastic Plants vs Zombies too which is slightly less infuriating but guaranteed to be just as addictive. Still not sure? Metacritic rates it at a 9.2 user score with 88 per cent average from reviews!

Another that has taken far too much of my time is the free Flash game called Straw Hat Samurai, which is you controlling a Samurai in a straw hat against levels of increasing difficulty. Your sword is sliced by drawing the cuts with the mouse and there’s also bonuses, and weapon upgrades to add to your arsenal as you progress.

If you’re not into such intensive action, then the mind teasing Wordhunt is currently extremely popular with over 50 people playing at the time of writing.
