This has been a very busy week for me and all my appliances and it must be said that whilst the electric toothbrush developed deep throat refusing to glide and the Nokia mobile bleeped with attention-seeking death throes, thank goodness the ASUS just got on with getting me a job. So, although I will not be able to smile at the interview I have on Tuesday nor make a last minute call to say I will be late because the train is delayed, reluctant, feeling blue…I will at least be able to pull out the ASUS and show a gob-smacked interrogation team the latest lesson plans for American politics. Indeed, the very lessons that the clever device managed to scrobble together in the first place.
So, this week ASUS has managed to perform the following tricks…It managed to carry out several Skype interviews for jobs overseas though it did not manage to make me look 10 years younger. However, the next day when it searched for and found several jobs that required photographs it was able to conceal the truth of decline and delapidation.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday I spent several hours looking for websites and materials to construct lessons plans and resources, which I will then calmly forward to my interviewers. On Friday, I took ASUS into the dark for several hours relying on its battery…in the end it did well, persevering for more than six hours as I went through all 340 boxes of books and household goods in storage, itemising and photographing.
So, although I do not have clean teeth or a reliable mobile I do have a dependable computer that actually can help me get a job and even make me look younger.
