Tech watching in the new is a lot of fun, especially when you can see some definite trends emerging and what topics are getting the most attention. This is especially true of the Ultrabook this week. This new slice of tech is being discussed in every corner of the globe and ASUS’ contribution no less among them.

Cnet looks into how Ultrabooks will tap into cutting-edge technology to deliver superior performance and usability, not to mention sexy portability. What’s really interesting here is what TrendForce says about what the Ultrabooks will likely include.

PC World’s article on why Ultrabooks are good for business is excellent reading and, if nothing else, will persuade the more reluctant to start taking a serious look at how this technology can make their lives easier.

Next up is the very cool and very exciting WAVI Xtion from ASUS. According to Slashgear it will start shipping in October of this year and I, for one, am rather keen to get my hands on one of these. The UK won’t be first in line to get the ultimate in PC handling cool, but I am sure it won’t be long before we get a chance to have some motion controlling fun of our own.

ASUS has always delivered superior motherboards, in fact they have some impressive statistics as to how many computers actually hold one of their motherboards in their creaking depths. They have just rolled out the E45M1-M Pro motherboard and you can see loads of images and thoughts over at TechConnect right now.

Also in the news is the ASUS Eee Pad Slider, the Z68 RoG Maximums IV motherboard, the O!Play Mini Plus and the RoG Dual GTX 580 Mars II graphics card.
