I’ve been avidly watching the news for any mention of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer as this productive device hits the UK. You may not have heard yet, but the initial stock for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer sold out, fast. So if you were not one of the lucky ones to nab one the moment they appeared on the shelves, then you’ve got a bit of a wait I’m afraid.
The Transformer’s new on sale date is now 01 June as ASUS hurriedly make as many more of these successful pads as they can. Clearly I am not the only one who thinks these are scrummy.
However, in spite of selling out faster than hot cakes in a snowstorm and stock becoming thin on the ground, a recent announcement by Amazon has said that the Eee Pad Transformer is their best selling pad to date.
I discovered this tasty snippet of information in IT Pro Portal where their writer, Desire Athow, talked about how Amazon is listing it as their best selling tablet only one week after having put it on sale. Now that is a good result!
The Eee Pad Transformer has generated a lot of positive energy in the media as well. Coming in at a neat price point and the added functionality of the clever docking station, the Eee Pad Transformer has a solid offering to make the pad hungry consumer.
The 10inch screen has 1280×800 pixels, the NVidia Tegra 2 chipset and Android Honeycomb operating system, along with free access to ASUS’ cloud platform and a wealth of extra features such as a 5MP digital camera and excellent syncing facilities, put Transformer firmly into the leading camp.
It’s going to be very interesting to see the results in June but I, for one, am impressed that a tablet on preorder can be the best selling tablet on one of the biggest online retail sites in the world.
