3D scans show how children’s bodies have changed

A recent article on the BBC News website showed how a survey called Shape GB, carried out by Select Research, used 3D scans to undertake the first ever nationwide sizing using 3D scanners.  The results were rather fascinating and spending time watching the video is worth every second.

The results of the survey were rather interesting. Apparently this generation of 11 year olds is significantly taller and fatter than their parent’s generation at the same age. Typical waistlines and height have increased over the past 30 years with girls sitting at around 2cm taller and boy waistlines up by 7cm.

Who knew? Amazing what technology is helping us to discover…
