There are two things you need to forgive today. The first is the terrible Lionel Richie pun for the heading of this post and the second is that I am not writing the blog I said I would. In my next post I promise I’ll be looking at the included features of the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC. You see as I started looking through everything I got distracted. By this. Yeah, an entire page of awards given to this device from some seriously well respected sites and publications.
It received two Best Buy awards from Computer Shopper and Expert Reviews (the latter of whom I usually refer to when looking to buy a new piece of kit), two best in test reviews – one from a leading Swedish technology mag and one from a Finnish mag – and some class thumbs up from titles such as Online PC, PC Actual and VR-Zone.
It’s not often that I get absorbed in reading this sort of thing really but you have to admit that a list like this is a little impressive. The product was noted as recommended and top of class by some of the best titles, some of the most relied upon, which makes it a lot easier for me to review it.
You see, I love it. Yes, it has its little quirks (as highlighted by VR-Zone in Singapore) like the inclusion of the Core i5-2400 processor which is a tad low on the power front for the capabilities promised by the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC, but it really does work. And knowing I am not alone in singing its praises makes me feel a bit less like a strange, geeky fan.
Fortunately I’ve not yet had a t-shirt made…
The multitouch screen is fun to work with and extremely responsive (as I pointed out here), and the included peripherals, while small, are very neat and can be easily slotted away for when you are not using the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC. Once I have had a chance to poke at all the dark corners in the ET2410 I think my next step is going to be putting it through the multimedia paces as a replacement for a TV.
Now, I really do promise that next time I’ll do the feature guide for the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC. Promise.
