It’s funny that as a teacher, the summer holidays hold the same significance to you as they did when you were a child. As the last day approaches, the excitement is visible on teachers’ faces as much as it is on students’ faces. The countdown to the summer holidays begins way back in May, if not March for some. Funnily enough, I end up spending the holidays in the same way as the students. Whilst my students lay waste to the great expanse of summer holiday by beating up baddies on the gaming console, I become a devotee of my pc, my Asus EeePC at that. I am absolutely shocked about the amount of time I can while away online without running out of time.
The Asus EeePC is wonderful, so easy to use. I mean I pretend to know about computers but in front of a techie I appear a troglodyte. Currently, I am scouring sales on line for some essentials for my baby. Isn’t technology wonderful? I am able to save pounds and not pay for delivery through the wonders of codes. And when the husband comes home and enquires what I have done all day? Well, changing nappies and looking after a crying baby of course, as well as making a lesson plan here and there I comment, whilst looking sheepishly at the breakfast dishes that are there still in front of me.
