ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1015

Ever since ASUS decided to plonk a meteor crater full of money and resources into product design, they’ve had a pretty good track record of scoring red dot design awards each year. According to a recently published press release, they’ve extended their streak in 2010, with the sterling ROG Rampage III Extreme motherboard and Eee PC Seashell 1015 counting among the winners.

The Rampage III Extreme is a particularly worthy addition to ASUS’ design awards mantelpiece. We love its asymmetry and copious use of facets, making it aesthetically on par with – or better than, as some would argue – one of our all-time favourites: the awe-inspiring Sabertooth 55i mobo that ASUS released last year.

What’s piqued our interest about ASUS’ press release in particular, however, is the curious bit where they mention “Commercial Series notebooks” and “new ultra-slim series of Eee PC netbooks”, without offering specifics or pictures.

We feel a breaking story coming on. Time for the Tech in Style crew to put our super sleuth caps on. We’ll be back with more.
