ROG’s newest Gene board is based on latest Intel Z68 chipset, so it can take full advantage of the Intel Sandy Bridge processor and it comes with a bevy of hardware and software features.
It supports up to 32gb of DDR3, has a built-in Intel Ethernet LAN port with GameFirst networking traffic optimization, as well as a Supreme FX X-Fi2 audio chipset, so audio is crisp and clear.
On the software side, one of the most impressive features is the support for Lucid Virtu, which enables the Sandy Bridge integrated GPU to work concurrently with a discrete GPU from NVIDIA or AMD. There’s also the Mem TweakIt utility, which allows a user to adjust memory timing settings in real-time, previously unavailable without a reboot.
