While it is very hard for me to tear myself away from the Eee Pad Transformer right now, I have discovered something that I think is really worth sharing – the ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Top graphics card. No, it didn’t win awards for the longest name ever.
I shall call this little gem the GeForce GTX 560 Ti for short and tell you a bit more about it, and why it is so lovely. This custom designed and smartly cooled device is factory overclocked to run with a 900MHz core – the GPU has been clocked in at almost 10% higher than nVidia’s default specification of 822MHz.
The 1GB GDDR5 frame buffer happily trundling (hahah) along at 4,200MHz, the 1,800MHz that the 384 shaders jog briskly along with – these features mean that this graphics card has the potential to deliver speeds so spicy that the nearest curry will cry in shame.
The ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Top graphics card (yes, I lied about not writing it all out again, it’s excellent for finger-keyboard dexterity) is not just fast, ok? No wait, I know that fast is good and that games and PCs (and me) like fast graphics cards that swallow pixel issues faster than you can say, “Burp”. BUT I also like things that are pretty.
Call me shallow but I have a big thing for the idea that this graphics card will look as good on display as any pretty, shiny object I’ve bought. The top isn’t some plasticky blob that sits there and looks protective, it’s actually made from real metal. Solid and sexy and, yes, shiny. The card looks like it can perform and so, obviously, it does. It’s all the psychology you see. Tell a card it’s handsome and it will do anything for you.
Hexus has done some pretty extensive testing on the ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Top graphics card and their results are detailed and interesting. In fact, I am always taken aback by HOW detailed their reviews are – pages and pages of methodology and analysis. Impressive.
They felt that the overclocking at 900MHZ out the box, the cooler and the looks were massive points in the card’s favour – and concluded that it was ideal for high-quality 1080p gaming. If you are on the lookout for a high-end monster, then take a look at the ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Top graphics card because it has all the boxes ticked in all the right ways.
