The day has finally comewhen we can all lay our hands on the lovely technology that is the Eee Pad Transformer. On Tuesday I talked about why the Android 3.0 system was ideal for pads, and now you can see for yourself as the Eee Pad Transformer takes to the shelves.
Today I’m looking at the news that’s surrounding the launch of the Eee Pad Transformer and what everybody’s been saying. Over at TechGoondu they are raving about the very funny video that’s gone viral with the launch. A rather brilliant parody of The Big Bang Theory, the movie has captured the geek humour and was inspired by, as rumour has it, by the son of Jonney Shih, the ASUS chairman.
Bit-tech were saddened by the lack of Decepticon or Autobot badges on the Eee Pad Transformer but they did comment on the unique design, the keyboard docking station, and the superb battery life. They are impressed with the minimalist design and are very excited about getting their hands on one for a more in-depth review.
The Taipei Timeswas all abuzz with the news that ASUS plan to add movies and games to their content store as the Eee Pad Transformer shifts into the market. They were lucky enough to get the first launch in the world, with the UK happily enjoying their chance today.
Their article discusses how ASUS is in talks with Netflix, a site with over 10 million subscribers as of the end of 2009, and how they are planning on rolling out features for the @vibe store by the second quarter of this year.
TMCnet are impressed by what they have called a “versatile tablet” and go into some detail about the features such as the Waveshare user interface for exciting content creation and social communication.
If you are still not sure what the Eee Pad Transformer has under your hood, they also talk about the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, the Corning Gorilla Glass (best name ever) and the 10.1 inch IPS panel with LED backlighting.
Tomorrow I’ll be taking a look at what everybody in the UK is saying about this delightful Eee Pad Transformer, and how the UK market has reacted to its arrival.
