Sound insane? Well not so much anymore. Takayuki Kosaka has just revealed his Mommy Tummy, a pregnancy suit designed for men to wear so that they can experience the same pains that their partner is during pregnancy.
The suit will simulate the sensations of nine months worth of weight gain, breast enlargement, baby kicking and balance over a two minute window. This should, theoretically, show men what it is like to experience those physical challenges in pregnancy. Although women have nine months to get the hang of it so two minutes seems, well, a bit harsh really.
What I found spectacularly funny was the fact that future versions of the suit will be sent out with a remote control that is attached to the mother-to-be. Yes, you read that correctly. Mums to be will have the control. Well, in a way. The way it will work is it will simulate the same sensations as those experienced by the mum so if the baby kicks, so will the suit.
Perhaps this is something geek moms should consider investing in if their partners are not that sympathetic to their plight?
