The Eee Pad Transformer has made impressive waves since its launch with many media hailing it as one of the best Android pads to date. Now, hot on its heels comes its big and bold cousin – the Eee Pad Slider. If you haven’t nabbed your delicious Android pad from ASUS yet, then perhaps this is what you were waiting for?

G4 Games show off the hands-on video of the Eee Pad Slider and suggest that the long awaited launch date is the not so distant autumn. They list the attributes of this lovely new device and reckon that with Android Honeycomb on top of the extras mean that the “Asus Eee Pad Slider will definitely be one of the big players”.

ITPro Portal cover the advent of the hybrid tablet mentioning the Asus Eee Pad Slider as “one good example” of the hybrid concept. They also outline that the tablet is powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor, Android 3.1 and more.

SlashGear enthusiastically points out that it “will be the first of its kind with an innovative slide-and-tilt keyboard to spice up the common tablet form factor” and that they spotted it in the August catalogue for the Portuguese electronics retailer Phone House.

Then, in a move that many have found surprising, Good eReader reports that the Eee Pad Slider has been launched in South Africa. This is a rather interesting decision by ASUS and should get those of us in Europe drooling and panting and begging for our turn to come now, please.

And that is pretty much the chatter across all the big names online this week. The imminent autumn arrival of the Eee Pad Slider has everyone buzzing. Will it live up to expectations and how will it perform after the huge success of its cousin? The good news is that we don’t have to wait very long to find out…
