eee pad transformerYesterday the launch of the Eee Pad Transformer went beautifully and the lines are buzzing with the latest news about this lovely product. One thing that’s definitely sure, ASUS have really got it right with this pad. It has a ton of features, excellent portability and screen size, Android 3.0 backing it up, and the add-on keyboard is a gem.

The 10.1 Eee Pad Transformer has a 10.1 inch screen and comes in at an excellent £379 without the keyboard dock. If you fancy converting your Transformer into a netbook then the entire set comes in at £429. And it looks fantastic.

It boasts a front and rear facing camera, promises a lovely battery life of around 16 hours if you’re using the dock, and the basic model is 16GB wi-fi with an extra 32GB of storage costing around £50. This puts the Eee Pad Transformer into a superb price bracket for the market, making it accessible to anyone with a hankering for tasty tech.

And another nice slice of news is that the Eee Pad Transformer will also be the first Google Android Honeycomb tablet available in the UK when it is released on 6th April. That’s a mere six days away. Can you wait? Are you going to queue? Me too.

Considering how well ASUS has done with the reinvention and revolution of the netbook I am looking forward to seeing how impressively the Transformer will perform in everyday life, and how many fans it will get.

Here’s a Flickr link to pictures of the UK launch of the tablet too!

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer will be available in selected Comet stores from Wednesday 6th April. Please visit the Comet website at www.comet.co.uk or call the Comet call centre on 0844 800 95 95 to place an order or to find your nearest store.

PC World, Currys and Carphone Warehouse stores will follow shortly and amazon.co.uk and ebuyer.com are also taking pre-orders.

I’ve driven myself mad recently looking at all the different Android tablets coming out this year and I was favouring the Xoom until I read about this. I really like the flexibility it offers and early hands on reviews are very promising.

I’m looking forward to some in depth reviews.
