All your bags are packed, you’re ready to go. You’re standing there outside your door. But have you ever thought of bringing your laptop with you on holiday?
I did, and here are some reasons why you should as well.
• Keep in touch with friends and family via web chats, video-conferencing, Twitter, or Facebook.
• Look up all the fun and interesting places you could visit while you are there. Just fire up your laptop and Google.
• Offload pictures from your camera into your laptop, so that you have sufficient space on your memory card. You can also review your pictures on a larger screen, and tell whether or not you have to retake them.
• Start a travel log to go with the pictures while the day’s events are still fresh in your mind.
• Internet banking would be really handy especially when you run out of shopping money and require a little help from your bank.
• Use it to charge USB-compatible devices like phones, mp3 players, and handheld games.
• Stay up-to-date with weather reports and news. Going abroad doesn’t mean you should be disconnected with what’s happening around the world.
• Catch a movie or two while in transit.
• Learn a couple of native phrases – it helps when you’re looking for the toilet or an ATM machine.
• Checking out the latest happenings in technology on Tech In-Style. Hah!
So there you have it, reasons why you should bring along your laptop during your holiday.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go find my scuba-flippers. In the meantime, you might want to check out some of the following websites for more great travel-computing tips.
