ASUS believes that the time has come for HD to take a backseat and has introduced the ET2702 All-in-One PC and PA279Q ProArt Series WQHD LCD Monitor to show the world that WQHD 2560 x 1440 is the new standard when it comes to ultra-realistic visuals.
First up, we have the ASUS ET 2702 All-in-One PC, which packs the latest cutting-edge technologies to forge ahead in the All-in-One PC stakes. The ET2702 features the 4th generation Intel® Core™ processors along with discrete AMD Radeon™ HD8890 graphics with up to 2GB VRAM. This latest line of Intel processors offers up to a 15% performance boost over its predecessors.
Those processors hide behind a 27-inch, 178° wide view angle, 10-point capacitive touch IPS panel with a native resolution 2560 × 1440 WQHD resolution. With four times the pixel density of 720p displays WQHD gives you greater image detail and a larger onscreen real estate to work on. If that’s not enough, there’s support for four external displays through HDMI and the Intel® Thunderbolt outputs. The latter provides unmatched performance – providing up to 10Gbps transfer speeds in either direction; as well as support for both data and video through a single connection.
You can use the ET 2702 as an external display for your notebook as well through ASUS Device Share technology. Similarly, hook your ET 2702 up to another Windows 8 PC to share features like the camera, touch panel, and keyboard and mouse.
The ET2702 comes with ASUS SonicMaster Premium – a combination of hardware and software designed to deliver improved audio quality, a wider sound range, and true-to-life surround sound. An optional SonicMaster subwoofer designed by the ASUS Golden Ear team has a 580cc resonance chamber for deep, rich bass. The ET 2702 also has Ai Charger II that lets you quick charge USB devices even with the PC is off.
Similarly, the PA279Q ProArt Series WQHD LCD Monitor is a professional 27-inch display that is factory pre-calibrated for unmatched color accuracy (ΔE<2) and outstanding color space reproduction — 99% Adobe Wide Gamut RGB, 100% sRGB and 120% NTS C. The PA279Q has an AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) display which provides a 178° wide view angle and native 2560 × 1440 resolution with 109 pixels per inch (PPI ). The PA279Q provides you with 77% more on-screen work area and up to 25% sharper images than generic 27-inch Full HD displays.
The ASUS PA279Q has DisplayPort, HDMI and dual-link DVI-D ports, and can display content from two video inputs simultaneously. Picture-in-picture mode displays content from a second input in a window in one corner of the screen, while picture-by-picture mode splits the screen down the middle to display content from two separate sources side-by-side. DisplayPort lets you daisy chain up to three monitors for a multi-display workstation. There’s also a six-port USB 3.0 hub, with one port with SuperSpeed Battery Charge for faster smartphone and tablet recharging; as well as a multi-format memory SD card slot. It also features two built-in 3W stereo speakers.
Targeted at design professionals, the PA279Q has ASUS QuickFit Virtual Scale for actual-size previews of images and documents, 100,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio for enhanced image contrast, and independent six-axis color adjustment for precise color control without affecting other hues. The PA279Q sits on a versatile stand with full tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment; and is VES A wall mount-compliant. There is also a monitor hood attachment that shields the display from bright ambient light for even greater color accuracy during calibration.
