This Spotlight we talk to Benny Kao, a product marketing specialist, seasoned traveller, and overall tech fan who’s always talking about buying a new massive gaming PC but never seems to get around to doing that because he’s too busy. He did take a few minutes off to chat with us.
How long have you been with ASUS?
A little more than a year now.
What is your role with the company?
I’m a member of the Global Product Marketing team, where we design the promotion and deployment of many of the products you read about here.
Can you tell us something about yourself?
I am a laid back person addicted to everything tech-related, so I guess ASUS is really the right place for me!
What is your favorite ASUS product?
There are many: the new 24” All-in-One PC, Eee Pad Transformer, and the U36 notebook are some I’d love to own myself.
And what’s the best part of being with ASUS?
Being the first to know about some of the most amazing products that are coming out and keeping up with the latest developments.
Are you working on something really exciting right now?
Yes, definitely, but unfortunately most of it is confidential and classified, you know how it is!
In what way do you think technology has affected you most?
It gave me a job, for one!
Which area of technology do you think will grow the fastest over the next ten years?
Definitely software, especially in the area of online services, or the cloud as we seem to call it these days.
Book or e-book?
Personally, I choose physical books.
What’s the best piece of tech advice anyone has ever given you?
To get rid of my 2-year old desktop PC, which is still running a Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB RAM, and an old NVIDIA graphics card. Time for a new build, I suppose.
Thanks a lot to Benny for talking to us and for sharing some of his thoughts with everyone!
