Have you been watching the flurry of reviews and critiques and announcements about the ASUS FonePad lately? It has been nothing short of astonishing. I’ve received hundreds of Google Alerts, tons of emails and I’ve still not scratched the surface on the hype and excitement that’s surrounding this device.
The ASUS FonePad, for those of you who are not entirely sure what I am on about, is a 7-inch tablet that was revealed at Mobile World Congress 2013 that does more than just grant you access to a world of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean features. It is also a smartphone. Oh yes.
The ASUS FonePad runs an Intel 1.2GHz ATOM processor and has plenty of power to handle the apps and phone features that have been thrown at it. It has a 1280×800 resolution display, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, micro-SD and microSIM slots, a 1.2MP front camera and a steady battery life. And it is apparently coming in at a very, very tasty price point.
The announcement made by ASUS has you being able to preorder yours as of Friday 12 April with the FonePad appearing in stock as of April 26. The price? It’s a very reasonable £179.99 which is impressive when you consider how many features have been pressed into one device.
