In previous posts I looked at how to take screen grabs with the Nexus 7 and how to take good photographs with the front-facing camera. Today I am going to walk you through sharing these images directly from the Gallery via email, Picasa, Facebook and more.
When you first get your tasty Nexus 7 you won’t have Facebook or twitter apps installed so you’ll need to go to Google Play and install them. Just use the search icon to find Facebook and Twitter in the App store – it’s very easy and they install in but a moment. You don’t need to log in to these straight away if you don’t want to.
Set up your Gmail account and Picasa, both of which are automatically installed onto your Nexus 7, and then tap the icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like a circle with six dots in it. That will take you to the menu with all the apps listed, tap on the Gallery app. Now navigate to the picture you want to share and open it by tapping on it.
In the top right-hand corner you will see an icon that looks like an inverted open triangle. Tap on that and all your options will appear: Bluetooth, Picasa, Google+, Facebook and Twitter. It will also show things like Pinterest and LinkedIn if they take your fancy. You will have to click on See More to see them, then tap on the social media service you want to use and either log in or follow the onscreen instructions. And you’re done. You can now share images with anyone on any social medium you choose.
And if you tap the Gmail icon you can email your images directly from your Gmail account too. Any questions, just ask them here…
