Yesterday was all about movies, so much so that I had to defer my chat about images to today. There is a lot you can do with your photos once you’ve downloaded them onto the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC and it deserves a post all of its own.
To start with you can use either one of the two USB3 ports that are conveniently located in the front on the left. No hanging over the top of the screen in a dangerous, back breaking position here (who hasn’t ended up on their back with tech on top of them, hey?). Or you can use the memory card reader that’s built in and as easily accessible on the left. Although, if you do fancy leaning over the top of the ET2410 as a nod to the past, there are three more USB ports at the back. There you go…
The layout is easy to use and navigate
Downloading images from a mobile phone will depend on your model and its own personal requirements, however, all the right ports and slots and holes are there included on the ASUS ET2410 so you will get it done in no time at all.
Go into the Photos feature of Eee Cinema by tapping your way along (see how here) and you’ll be taken to a screen with the images listed down the left-hand side. Tap on any image to be taken to further options and I will now cover them in order of appearance from left to right.
Tapping on the icon that looks like an ink blot you get your slideshow options where you can set duration and effects, to the right of that you have your slideshow controls. Tapping on the Stop key will take you back to the main menu or halt your slideshow, play will start the slideshow regardless of which image you are viewing and ffwd and rwd do as they usually do.
Next up you can zoom in up close on an image or zoom out using either the slider or the little people shaped icons. This is quite a lot of fun. And finally you can tap the rotation icons to change the picture layout or the paintbrush to edit the images and adjust issues such as red eye or crop.
In the Edit menu you can also see the details of the image thanks to the, erm, Details tab that tells you when the image was taken, with what device, and what the dimensions are. The editing options aren’t huge but they are a nice extra.
Going back, by tapping the arrow in the top left-hand corner of the screen, you can now go to Create a Slideshow. Drag and drop images or just tap the green + icon to add them to the list and then click Preview to make sure you are happy. You can then edit the settings and effects using the menu outlined above.
Overall the features are very sweet and the slideshow feature does offer plenty of fun but they are not high-level photo editing features so don’t expect to be able to change colours or backgrounds. However, as a free extra thrown in as part of this entire package, it’s great and it adds something extra to the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC.
