It was on Halloween that the news revealed how well the Nexus 7 was selling. Indeed three million of these tasty tablets have been sold since it was announced in June of this year, an astonishing amount indeed. That works out to around 20,000 Nexus 7s being sold a day*.
According to ASUS’ Chief Financial Officer, David Chang, there are nearly one million of these brilliant little tablets being sold a month. This is an extraordinary achievement in a marketplace that’s full to the brim with competing devices sitting at similar price points.
What makes the Nexus 7 so special is it’s interconnectivity with all of the apps and services offered by Google, and the fact that it will remain updated as the Android operating system develops. In fact, on Friday 02 November ASUS confirmed that the Nexus 7 would be getting Android 4.2.
While the “new flavour of Jelly Bean” is still to come out on the Nexus 7 you can still enjoy all the features that were recently released with Android 4.0 without losing out too much as you wait. There is no formal date set for the update of the Nexus 7 to Android 4.2, but it is now an official event that you can all look forward to. Perhaps as a lovely little Christmas present…
