ASUS set out reinventing the netbook as a sleek, stylish portable with last year’s Eee PC Seashell, but 2010 sees an exciting new design that makes the ASUS Eee PC an even bigger object of desire.

The Eee PC Seashell 1008P is the result of a collaborative effort between ASUS and legendary industrial designer Karim Rashid, and it’s designed to be dramatically different from any netbook you’ve seen before.

Available in two colours — Hot Pink and Coffee Brown— the Eee PC Seashell Karim Rashid Edition has a stunning design that uses a combination of rubber and metallic materials to create a uniquely textured finish. Both models are beautiful to look at, but even more satisfying to touch — something that can’t be said about any other netbook.

The Eee PC Seashell Karim Rashid Edition uses the very latest mobile technology on the inside, too. At its heart lies the new Intel Atom N450 ‘Pinetrail’ processor and 1GB DDR2 RAM, together with a 10.1” LED-backlit screen and 250GB hard drive.

You can find the full specification of the Eee PC Seashell Karim Rashid Edition at the ASUS CES site and we’ll have lots more information in a few days’ time. Until then, here’s a selection of photos to whet your appetite.
