At first sight, those with an eye for design will give the ASUS Designo MX Series display a nod of approval. Here is a display that’s unlike any other before it, its elegant design has an ultra-slim profile and a barely-there bezel that is just 0.8mm thick. It also features a sundial-inspired stand that gives it a sturdy base to rest on. It’s an impressive looking piece of kit, one that has won over judges at the 2012 Good Design Awards.
Available in 23-inch (MX239H) and 27-inch (MX279H), the Design MX Series features a 178° wide-view angle Advanced-High Performance In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS) panel. It has little or no minimal colour shift on both horizontal and vertical planes so you get Full HD 1920 x 1080 pictures even from the most extreme viewing positions.
AH-IPS technology provides improved color accuracy and is more efficient that other panels in the market; while a 5ms response time eliminates ghosting and tracers for more fluid video playback. It also has ASUS-proprietary technologies like an 80,000,000:1 Smart Contrast Ratio and Splendid™ Video Intelligence, as well as audio by ASUS SonicMaster.
Hector
A former tech journalist with a local daily, Hector is an anomaly in the world of tech writers—he’s a skeptic, preferring to ask “Do we really need another (insert gadget here)?” instead of “I gotta have that new toy.” As a result, he often finds himself owning these gadgets only a year after their release. He wishes things were a whole lot simpler, like they were back in the 60s, even though he wasn’t even born then. Perhaps that explains why he’s dressed like the Fonz. Ayyyy!!
