The ASUS ZENBOOK has wowed us since its debut, and has spawned various iterations since then. At IFA yesterday, ASUS revealed the latest addition to its ultrabook range – the ZENBOOK U500VZ.
The U500VZ has the same sleek aluminium shell with unique ‘spun’ hairline finish that we’ve grown so familiar with. This time round, the ultra-slim chassis houses the incredibly powerful 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7 quad-core processor that comes with the optional NVIDIA® GT650M graphics and up to 512GB SSD storage.
At just 19.7mm at its thickest point, the ZENBOOK U500VZ features a 15” Full HD IPS display. This wide-view angle display ensures vivid colours and crisp images from almost any angle, while the anti-glare coating eliminates distracting reflections. User ergonomics is a key feature of the U500VZ, with a full-size keyboard with a separate numeric keypad and an automatic backlight that makes minute brightness adjustments in accordance to ambient lighting ensuring users comfort at all times. ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II technology also ensures up a longer battery life.
Users have the option of selecting their storage choices, with the ZENBOOK U500VZ sporting either dual SSD drives with up to 512GB capacity, or a combination of a 128GB SSD and 500GB.
Stay tuned for a closer look at the U500VZ.
Hector
A former tech journalist with a local daily, Hector is an anomaly in the world of tech writers—he’s a skeptic, preferring to ask “Do we really need another (insert gadget here)?” instead of “I gotta have that new toy.” As a result, he often finds himself owning these gadgets only a year after their release. He wishes things were a whole lot simpler, like they were back in the 60s, even though he wasn’t even born then. Perhaps that explains why he’s dressed like the Fonz. Ayyyy!!
