The Nexus 7 had its price dropped on 29 October 2012 and ASUS has recognised that many customers who bought the device prior to this date should be given some kind of compensation. And so they have offered ASUS customers a £25 gift voucher to make up for it.
So, if you bought your Nexus 7 before 29 October and you bought your device directly from ASUS or Google, and your device is registered with ASUS, then you need only provide proof of purchase to get your £25 gift voucher.
The offer is open until the end of November 2012 – so you have a few days yet – and you will need to spend the money before the end of the year.
Those terms and conditions aside, I think this is a lovely gesture. While you won’t be able to buy yourself a second Nexus 7 with the voucher (although you could, if you added money to the pot) you could easily sort out an ace cover for your Nexus 7 from the ASUS store, or an adaptor cable, if that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
To get your £25 coupon that’s a big, fat thank you from ASUS you need to register your Nexus 7 at the ASUS member site and then you’ll get an email with the coupon offer and the details on how you can submit your proof of purchase. Job done.
