I have waited a long time for this day to come. Facebook has finally released a desktop application for its messaging service on Windows. This marks another step in Facebook’s conquest for global domination.
A dedicated Messenger app has already been available on smartphones such as Android and iOS for some time, so this addition on the Desktop ecosystem isn’t something out of the norm, but a mere extension of Facebook’s reach.
Ever since I started using Facebook in 2005, I found myself opening up Windows/MSN Messenger less frequently…until I gave up using it completely around 2008. Why bother? All of my friends are on Facebook. With the release of this Desktop client, Zuck has effectively put the last nail on MSN Messenger’s coffin.
You can download the app for Windows here.
