Mrs Mario previously blogged about ROG kit winning this years reddot design awards, and finally the ROG team tells us the news official!

Following on from last year’s awards for the Rampage III Extreme and G73 and G53 laptops, the ROG team has once again received the internationally coveted reddot design awards for its latest G74 gaming laptop and Rampage III Black Edition motherboard.

red dot design award for ASUS G74 and Rampage III Black Edition

ASUS' G74 laptop and Rampage III Black Edition motherboard wins the 2011 red dot design award! I just noticed how the black and red logo goes very neatly with both products.

The award ranks among the largest and most famous design competitions in the world. Each year, an international jury reviews and evaluates the submitted products according to stringent criteria, including the degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, formal quality, ecological compatibility and durability of the product.

A prestigious logo, but sorry, no lasers.

The Rampage III Black Edition won the award for its advanced heatsink design and innovative combination of advanced LAN and audio card with built-in headphone amplifier, on the same expansion card. Meanwhile the G74 excelled because of its functional, highly styled design, as well as its innovative cooling method to keep the touch areas cool, even after hours of intense gaming.
