Sony has just announced that both ASUS and Wikipad are to be partners in the Sony PlayStation Mobile Initiative. The news comes hot and fresh off the Gamescom 2012 presses and is fantastic news for anyone keen to play those classic PlayStation games on an Android device.
With PlayStation Mobile access will be given to ASUS tablets such as the Transformer Prime and Transformer Infinity. Sony confirmed that ASUS will gain entry to games on the platform with titles such as Lemmings – yes, the classic game will be resuscitated – and Crash Bandicoot.
This translates very well indeed for those who invested in ASUS Transformer tablets, especially gamers. The powerful Transformer series of tablets will cope perfectly well with the games on offer with PlayStation Mobile, especially the Prime and Infinity, and owners will be able to enjoy tons of Sony certified games.
The games will be downloadable on all formats and cross-compatible, hopefully allowing for you to kick off a game on one platform and finish it on another – regardless of which device or OS you’re using. And the types of games released will also make a huge difference to the cool factor here. A bunch of indie games already available through Google Play will hardly amaze, but Sony exclusive content most definitely will.
This is a space well worth watching, what do you think?
