With the new class of Ultrabooks on the market, one of the requirements that Intel insisted on from manufactures was the speed in which the notebook resumed from standby mode. ASUS’s offering on their ZENBOOK line comes in the form of “Instant On” technology, which promises resume times in about 2 seconds. Think back to how long it took your older notebooks (or desktops if you ever put them in sleep/suspend/hibernate/standby) to come back to full working mode. It took forever, didn’t it? Now check out Instant On in action via this fan made film on the YouTubes:
As you can see, it is indeed quick, with the speed to best a variety of things, including gravity, wind and bullets! OK, maybe not bullets, but it’s still really fast.
So how did ASUS pull of this feat of strength speed? This is no Festivus Miracle, as ASUS incorporated a super fast SSD in the ZENBOOK along with their years of computer know-how to engineer one of the fastest response times in a notebook ever seen. But don’t take my word for it, or even that of a YouYube video. Go experience it for yourself!

Having worked in various facets of the computer industry, Postal has a deep understanding of the mindsets of everyone from the software industry to hardware manufacturers and IT support. An avid gamer, he developed his online moniker after many intense hours of LAN gaming in his early college days, when another gamer commented that his domination was akin to “going postal”.
