I imagine that you’ve already chosen the tablet you want and are now just waiting for it to appear so you can snatch it up and play with it. Instead of staring mournfully at pictures of your tablet and tapping your foot impatiently why not start getting prepared for its arrival?
Like any new piece of gadgety wonderfulness, your tablet is going to need some focused attention when it first comes home. And by focused attention, I mean, lots and lots of lovely games from the Android Market
I imagine that these are going to undergo a radical transformation over the next year as developers leap onto the Android bandwagon – after all, Android pads are going to dominate the market and all these happy users are going to need some lovely apps and games. These four games are not a complete list, but as yet most games have not been confirmed as easily transferred, or available on, Android tablets.
1. Angry Birds
Yes, yes, I know. Angry Birds has been sitting at the top of the charts for months now, and anyone who hasn’t heard of it has probably been in a dungeon somewhere. Addictive, entertaining, hilarious and, wonderfully, free, Angry Birds is a clever mesh of physics puzzle with shooting action.
The game plays well on an Android phone, but on a beautiful big pad screen it is utterly beautiful.
2. Fruit Ninja
If you happen to be one of those people (like me) who played Angry Birds to death over Christmas, then Fruit Ninja should be right up your ally. The concept is simple. Slice the fruit with your finger while avoiding the bombs and enjoying the satisfying splat of severed fruit intestines on the screen.
It shouldn’t be addictive, it’s really weird that it is addictive, because the idea seems about as exciting as, say, toenail cutting ninja. But it does work and it is utterly captivating.
3. Plants vs. Zombies
Both Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle by PopCap Games are on hold for a summer release this year and I am assuming this has everything to do with making sure that these games will run beautifully on the tablet-sized screens. Both these games are fantastically addictive and have stood the test of time and replayability.
While this is hardly a definitive list of games available for the Android pad market, they are four that will work well with your tablet. Expect an update soon.
