The Zenbook has been one of the most popular ultrabooks on the market, not to mention one of the most sexiest. The  Zenbook Prime kicks things up a notch, bringing the latest 3rd generation Intel Core processor to the show, along with a few other notable features.

Spinning spin spin finish!

Aesthetically, the Zenbook Prime still features its signature spun metal finish design with the dimensions the same as its predecessor: 9mm profile in the rear going to a svelte 3mm in the front. Component wise, we have the aforementioned 3rd generation Intel processor, along with 2 USB 3.0 ports instead of the original 1 USB 3.0 port vs. the original.

That's myyyy side view.

The keyboard also got a face lift, switching from an all metallic version to a plastic one that features a bit more bounce and support. While it’s not as sexy or futuristic, it has been given an upgrade to include backlit keys, so for those who can’t touch type in the dark, that little feature is available to help you out.

Smoooooooth operator. Now comes in backlit flavor!

Also upgraded is the display, now an IPS screen featuring full HD 1080p with viewable angles up to 178 degrees. This way, you can show off to your friend’s  the Zenbook Prime’s sleek body as well as what’s on screen.

Oh? But what’s this? It’s got another trick up it’s sleeve, and boy is it a doozy. Already loaded with the latest tech, those crazy cooks at ASUS went and added a touch screen to the UX21A model. While some may say making the already awesome full HD display multi-touch capable  is overkill, Windows 8 was clearly designed for touch, so having that extra option is nice to have, even if I have to remove my hands from the keyboard and touchpad to do it.

All touchy feely.
