Just to tease us, ASUS sent over these images hinting at what’s to come in its new Z87 motherboard lineup, but don’t go in to any hints as to what makes them so darn special.
First off, they’ve shown us the GTX 670 DirectCU Mini, a full power GTX 670 graphics card squeezed on a PCB just a tiny 17cm (6.75 inches) long, making it the same as the width of a mini-ITX motherboard! This reduced size opens up a whole new range of possible options, such as a reduced size home theatre PC or apocket-sized LAN gaming monster. It also features a DirectCU cooler featuring a patent-pending fan design and vapor chamber and ASUS’s Super Power Alloy components, which last up to 2.5X longer than reference parts.
This tiny card is still undergoing final testing and tweaking, so the full specifications aren’t yet available but will be come launch time!
As well as a graphics card, ASUS has also decided to tease us all with three careful teaser shots. They don’t reveal too much, but sure have wetted our appetites for the year to come. There is a new Republic of Gamers product on the way, but we can’t work out what it’s for yet!
There are also teasers of two forthcoming Z87 chipset boards, ready for Intel 4th Generation Core CPU’s, rumored to me available mid 2013.
We’re very excited to see what ASUS has to reveal to us over the coming months to say the least, and looking forwards to whatever else they might have hidden up their sleeves.
