Meet the new ASUS VivoTab RT — a 10.1-inch multi-touch tablet with Windows RT.
VivoTab RT runs Windows Store apps and has Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 RT pre-loaded, so it’s perfect for both work and play.
Inside is an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 12-core GPU for lifelike graphics. Despite the power it packs, VivoTab RT is just 8.3mm thin and 520g light, making it the thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch tablet on the market.
The 10.1-inch screen is the ideal size for the new Windows 8 touchscreen interface and the brightness of its Super IPS+ panel means it performs brilliantly outdoors. The panel itself uses ASUS-developed TruVivid technology, that allows for increased clarity and color, while also helping to reduce VivoTab RT’s profile. A scratch resistant Corning Fit glass front panel ensures it’s tough enough for life on the road.
The optional mobile dock provides well spaced keys and the chiclet design make it pretty much the same as working a small notebook or netbook. Much like a notebook, you’ll find a multi-touch touchpad positioned below the keyboard, as well as a USB port on the side for transferring files. The new hidden hinge design helps create an integrated feel when docked , so it looks and feels just like a notebook.
The battery built into the dock extends battery life for full day usage, so you don’t need to be on the lookout for power sockets.
Multimedia is not left behind either, as VivoTab RT features SonicMaster audio technology. The four speaker audio subsystem creates deep, rich bass and vocals practically unheard of in a mobile device, making it a superb portable entertainment machine. Dual cameras let you take a picture wherever the action is happening, with an 8-megapixel sensor at the rear and a 2-megapixel at the front.
