ROG Rampage IV Extreme hardcore cooling video

On a recent trip up to the ASUS HQ motherboard labs, we got a chance to hang out with Andre “the giant overclocker” Yang, a rather radical modder who treats liquid nitrogen like you generally think of plain old air. The guy really laps it up, and as you can see for yourself in this video (captured by Matt Black), Andre applies the LN2 with extreme prejudice to get the results he wants, which in this case brings us to the land of 5GHz+ CPUs.

In the demo, we behold ROG Rampage IV Extreme features at work. These include Subzero Sense (designed specifically for cryogenic-grade cooling system temp measurement), VGA Hotwire (direct overvolting of graphics cards), and of course OC Key OSD tuning with no system resource handicap. Extreme cooling is the order of the day!

Clearly the hardware here has been significantly modified, with special “pots” for the LN2 on both the board and the graphics card. But Andre also uses regular shop towels for insulation, which are both practical and affordable. Do note we don’t necessarily recommend you attempt this at home…or at least do so with certain precautions in place, like safety goggles and gloves. Andre has little use for these things, apparently.

Anyway, enjoy the video!
