On Monday I dug my fingers into 3DMark 11 and PC Mark 07 with the ET2410INTS All-in-One PC, today I am exploring both heaven and hell courtesy of Unigene, Aliens and Predators. Naturally…

First up was my downloading and running Unigene’s Heaven benchmark. The ‘Heaven’ benchmark is a DirectX 11 GPU benchmark that uses the Unigene engine and is, apparently, the first ever DirectX 11 benchmark in the world. Nice.

It is also quite possibly the prettiest and most mesmerising of any benchmark I’ve ever sat through. Gorgeous imagery, dragons and pebbled roads are as much fun to watch as Sean Connery in a loincloth and a bad 80s fantasy movie. In short, LOTS of fun.

The features of the Heaven benchmark are all listed on the site (click the link) for you to read through at your leisure. I am just going to dive straight into the results as I think that’s probably what most of you are waiting for.

The ASUS ET2410INTS does not have the graphical oomph required to use the tessellation feature built into the Heaven benchmark. A minimum of Nvidia GeForce 7xxx and higher is required. On that level our poor little all-in-one didn’t even get a look in. However, here are the results.

Next up is the lovely Alien vs. Predator benchmark that really puts the DirectX 11 hardware through its paces. The DirectX had to be updated which was a mere click away to Microsoft’s site and a two minute download and install. Then the .dll error disappeared and AvP worked its magic.

The ET2410INTS was running at 1920×1080 resolution with a texture quality of 2, shadow quality was 3, anisotropic filtering at 16. SSAO was on, vertical sync off, DX11 tesselation and DX11 advanced shadows were on. The summary put the number of frames at 1175 with an average frame time of 88.9ms and an average FPS of 11.2.

Not great, no, but what I expected with the built-in Nvidia graphics card more suited to mobile platforms and not up to the massive performance demands expected here. However, as a machine that can deliver an all-round experience, so far the ASUS ET2410 All-in-One PC is one to watch.
