I see that the 10” solution you gave has the NVIDIA Tegra powering the graphics. Does the 7” Eee Pad MeMO also feature the NVIDIA Tegra solution as well?

    Hi Journo,

I just checked that with ASUS for you, and got this official answer in return: “ASUS continually studies what device solutions will benefit consumers the most. As you know, NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 solution is within out 10.1” Eee Pad lineup, so naturally, we are considering all different possibilities while researching the best solution for customers.”

Anandtech states it’s a new Qualicom Snapdragon MSM8260: dual core 1.2GHz with beefed up PowerVR GPU. (http://www.anandtech.com/show/4085/asus-announces-eee-pad-and-eee-slate-tablets/1).

If ASUS says it’s still researching the possibilities (battery life, performance etc), and the MeMo is slated for June, the Anandtech reference might be ‘preliminary’ spec only. At least the ARM CPU space gives ASUS plenty of choice! ;-)

ASUS stated that “a time frame has not yet been determined, but hope to have a MP (mass production) to reviewers shortly”.

I’m already on the phone asking how short is shortly ;-)
