The Eee Pad EP 121, to be unveiled at Computex in Taipei, brings slatecomputers bang up to date.

2010 is the year of the slate computer and ASUS is set to take the technology to a whole new level with the Eee Pad EP121.

Due to restricted operating systems and limited hardware, handheld slate computers usually offer a reduced experience compared to what we’re used to on a laptop PC. The Eee Pad EP121, on the other hand, comes with no such compromise.

It is the ultimate productivity tool. It comes with a 12” highresolution multitouch-sensitive screen, a CUL V Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor and the Windows® 7 Home Premium operating system to handle multiple computing tasks simultaneously.

Its touch-based user interface lets you easily surf the web, while a webcam allows for video conferencing capabilities. It is also an exciting multimedia platform that lets you listen to music or watch HD movies. And when it comes to word processing tasks, its handwriting recognition feature, embedded virtual keyboard and a special docking station-cum keyboard offer convenient options when it comes to character inputs.

If it is additional mobility you want, there’s also the 10’’ Eee Pad EP101TC which runs on Windows Embedded Compact 7. It comes in at a mere 675g and a slim, pocketfriendly 12.2mm.

We’ve given you just a glimpse of the upcoming Eee Pad range and ASUS will announce full details at Computex in Taipei — it’ll be worth the wait.
