I hope you don’t have any preconceived notions about what an AiO PC should be like because ASUS just took that blueprint and threw it out the window.
The Transformer AiO is an innovative device that is part tablet, part All-in-One PC.
Not only can it switch between PC and tablet modes, it can also switch between Windows and Android operating systems. It has been engineered to work with Windows 8 as well.
When in AiO mode, the Transformer AiO features an extended 18.4”, 10-point LED-backlit touch display on a compact, versatile stand that includes tilt and height adjustments. It also comes with ASUS SonicMaster audio developed by the ASUS Golden Ear team to deliver clear audio and deep bass tones through its integrated speakers.
The display detaches from its base station to become a wireless display for the AiO PC, extending the range of the PC and allowing users to continue with their work anywhere in the home. It also converts into an Android-based 18.4” tablet for the home with a press of a button. In addition, users can instantly access their data through the Android operating system without having to turn on the PC.
Stay tuned as we take a closer look at the AiO Transformer later this week.
Hector
A former tech journalist with a local daily, Hector is an anomaly in the world of tech writers—he’s a skeptic, preferring to ask “Do we really need another (insert gadget here)?” instead of “I gotta have that new toy.” As a result, he often finds himself owning these gadgets only a year after their release. He wishes things were a whole lot simpler, like they were back in the 60s, even though he wasn’t even born then. Perhaps that explains why he’s dressed like the Fonz. Ayyyy!!
